I don't know about travesty. That is a strong word. When you have

a competitor who got a lot of votes, is also an all-ACC performer, it isn't a travesty if the other worthy candidate got it. A neutral observer could conceivably say that it is a travesty that Cunnane didn't get it.

It is always a debate when, for example, someone doesn't make an NBA All-Star team. Someone, even that player, argue that he should be on it. But that player never identifties who on the team should be kicked off to make room for him.
